Connecting with Smart Extras
Smart Extras aren’t just *smart* – it’s cutting edge tech that complements both your Xperia smartphone and lifestyle.
During MWC we’ve been getting up-close-and-personal with some of our upcoming Smart Extras products – check out our images and overview below, and be sure to let us know which is your favourite
SmartTags
Smart Tags use NFC technology compatible with Xperia S and Xperia P. You can choose a Tag for a situation, and prescribe certain tasks… then simply touch your phone against the Tag and as if by magic the actions are deployed!
Perfect for when I’m falling into bed and I’m a little too tired to mute my phone, set my alarm and turn off Wi-Fi…
Smart Wireless Headset Pro
The Smart Wireless Headset Pro provides a crisp, clear audio experience, meaning you won’t miss a single beat!
That’s not all – it displays media titles, text messages and email… and you can even make calls direct from the device! In addition to all this it acts as an MP3 player being able to store music independently from your Smartphone – a very Smart Extra indeed!
SmartWatch
Don’t be fooled into thinking this is just a normal (but slightly cooler) time-piece – it connects to your Xperia handset and allows you to answer calls, control music, check email and manage social networks; all with a simple touch and swipe!
You can also download specific applications from the Android Market and customise it to your choosing!
These will be launching soon, so keep your eyes fixed right here on the blog for all the latest updates.

Definitely can’t wait for the Smartwatch! I’ve been waiting for a release date since January. I currently own the Xperia Play and it’s my first Sony phone, but certainly won’t be my last; Sony is making some big strides already and I cant wait to get my hands on more of your mobile products!

Hi Dustin,
I received my smartwatch as part of my Xperia S package and can confirm it does what it says. However don’t be totally taken in by the advertisment pictures. The OLED display is not as sharp as the publicity pictures would have you believe. It’s not worth the £100.00+ that I’ve seen it advertised at. The above video is a true reflection, but you’ll note the camera doesn’t linger on the watch screen for two long. If I’d paid £100.00 for it, got it home and charged it up I’d feel disappointed, but it came at a discounted rate so I’m not complaining!. It’s ideal if you work in a Contact Centre and your boss is a complete control freak/dragon who moans about mobile phones on your desk.
The camera app is a fun item and the smartwatch is a good sign of things to come (so well done Sony!) but if you can’t wait 12 months for an improved version, try to buy it on-line for a cheaper price.

I”m not toally captivated by these Smart Extras as the others. I do like, however the stereo bluetooth. That you can download MP3 music directly to the headset is a great idea. However, knowing SONY, the price will be outlandish.
