So, when is the Xperia Play 2 coming out? I’m holding out for it, but really need some LTE soon or I might have to bail on the platform.

That’s another new term, “Xperia games ecosystem”… What is it exactly?
We’ve had “Xperia Play”, “PS Suite + PS certified”. But mind you, the two are different ecosystems. Device which is “PS certified” does not mean it’ll expose game control interfaces, be it actual hardware or just software emulation, to games or the andorid OS in a way compatible with the Xperia play. That means all those “Xperia Play Optimized” apps currently on the market will gain nothing when ran on other “PS certified” devices.
As far as I understand (and I think to most Android developers and consumers as well), “PS certified” only means the device got access to the market(s) provided by Sony. It does not mean a STANDARDIZED game control API which game developers can write code against.
So with Xperia Play only accounting for a tiny, tiny fraction of target audience, if I were an android game developer, why would I bother optimising for Xperia Play anymore? I’d even regret having spent the time to optimize past apps!
That, together with just exactly 10 old PS1 titles in the “Playstation Pocket” App store one YEAR after its release, means the “Xperia Play” ecosystem (meaning new contents with proper gamepad handling) is almost dead now. And the “PS Suite”, which was a major selling point of Xperia Play, will release BETA in April 2012, That’s the SDK (development tool) Beta, for god’s sake!
So whatever it is you are committed to, it doesn’t look like the “Xperia play” ecosystem.
If you’re referring to the “PS Suite + PS certified” ecosystem, sorry, few people have contact with the SDK, so at the current understanding, that’s just mean another walled-garden market, and gamers are not interested in that. UNLESS it also means a well-implemented gaming input standard which will be supported again and again in new Android devices, THEN we’re talking about an “ecosystem”.
It looks like real “PS Suite” content is not arriving until year end, there’s no word of new Android device which will come with gamepad, and new games have already stopped optimising for Xperia Play now.
The dream of good gaming experience on the go is shattering! If you don’t keep it alive, you’ll have to rebuild much of what the Xperia Play already had later this year/ 2013, and the Xperia Play episode will make that effort even harder.

Dear Sirs,
I would like to ask for native video calling in future OS updates.
Video calling – as we were used to having and still remains functional in other brands’ Android phones – just requires a software implementation. Not everyone can afford data plans. Wi-Fi isn’t available everywhere and it is a costly “privilege” im many places.
Therefore, 3G “out-of-the-box” video calls as we used to enjoy in older Sony’s phones would be a great advantage for present and future users.I am sure you realise how popular and common video calls are in many countries and how important it is to consumers to be able to place a video call anywhere, anytime, without further worries or needing to install 3rd party programmes.
Granting 3G “native” video calls to our phones would surely boost Sony’s sales… and not the opposite!
I do believe Sony ought to understand that REintroducing video calling on their phones will only benefit them.
It will mean higher sales/profits; more buyers and keeping/gaining happier customers who won’t consider buying or changing to another brand phone simply to regain something useful, cheap and comfortable that they’ve grown used to.
Thank you very much for your time and attention.
Best Regards. -

At least tell us what month ICS will be available.
And please, makes it look good and more ICS feel than adding some of your enhancement (im not saying its bad) but we wanna see the look and feel of ICS. Like the App drawer or whatever the name is, make it the same as ICS not the one from GB like you did in the beta version, change it please SO Xperia user wont have to use any 3rd party Launcher anymore.
Hope you listen and more power to Sony.

Dear Product Developer,
Please periodically update Xperia play’s keypad to map controls of all latest android games. Old Playstation titles does not appeal the majority.
It’s a business opportunity, because it’s the only hardcore game phone on the market.
Thanks for listening.
