Xperia™ smartphones are made of imagination

March 22, 2012 - 4:12 PM

To create our upcoming TV ad, we enlisted the help of the most imaginative people we know – kids.

We asked them to tell us what they thought was inside Xperia smartphones that made them so special. Then, Fantastic Mr. Fox and The Royal Tenenbaums director, Wes Anderson and Laika/house, brought it all to life in a 60-second stop-motion video narrated by, and based on the imaginings of 8-year-old Jake Ryan…

The result is magical, and will hit your TV this Saturday, but you can see it before it goes to air in the video above!

British sci-fi author, Arthur C. Clarke once said “any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic”… I don’t know about you, but I tend to agree with him :-)

This is an excellent ad. I like the theme of a young imagination. It truly is this young imagination that some day, with education and initiative, will be responsible for the next great technological leap. Well done Sony and whoever your marketing firm is.
