Personalize your Xperia™ smartphone
Hello everyone – today we bring you some exciting news!
As you know, design, hardware as well as software, is a key part of the Xperia smartphone and Smart accessory creation and development process. However, we don’t manufacture the cases and shells that can give your smartphone that extra cool individual look.
So today, we’re excited to announce new partnerships with leading accessory brands, to enable true personalization of your Xperia smartphone.
We know that when you look to buy a new smartphone, the quality and choice of accessory on offer is important. So, we’re keen to ensure that our consumers get the very best selection of cases and shells for their favorite smartphone.
To make this happen we have created a new partnership program with case and accessory manufacturers. The market leading brands that have joined us so far are: CaseMate, AGF, Incipio, Krusell, Dicota, Copter, Muvit, Roxfit, Orbyx and Shinnorie.
Our new friends will announce exciting and stylish products for Xperia smartphones from mid-May.
We hope you’re looking forward to enjoying them as much as we are and we’d love to hear your feedback in the comments below!

SONY XPERIA,
If you don”t mind, is almost end of the May. When you will release the new software 4.0 for Xperia Neo? Is not right to have so much delay Sony Xperia . I cannot belive that how slowly you moved. I am so disappointed of you Sony.

Anthony just one more thing, PLEASE, PLEASE don’t make country limitations for update like it was did for Arc S, Neo V and Ray it was released for Nordic countries first, just don’t do it for waiting Xperias! It would kill me
to wait more, when somebody else already has it on his ST15! Just release it World Wide! Hope it happens
Thanks

Blablabla..
Sony, first of all you should care about your old customers!!
That if you don’t like seeing your customers are leaving sony and changing to other great brands! You’ve to show the already old customers some respect! By keeping your word about the ics release dates!
Unacceptable to be in the second half of may and no news about the updates yet!
We’re about to get into the second half of the year!!!
I’m afraid to recieve the update after releasing android 5.0 !I have bought the phone last march, and really started to hate the way you treat your customers by on the next month!
Wish to see you the best around and in a better place.
-
-
By Todor Xperius
Mohamed Saeed i think you are wrong Sony treats customers the best, i had Nokia and Samsung, Nokia support is THE WORST POSSIBLE! Samsung is bad, and i hear Motorola has good support but Sony support it great for now, hope it won’t change! SO DON’T MAKE OTHER PEOPLE THINK SONY IS BAD! If you are good enough make ICS for your phone yourself! It’s a lot of work there, and still it’s not just one phone and one system! So…shut…your…mouth!

1- If i didn’t know and respecting sony and considering sony as a good option,
Then i wouldn’t buy my phone from them.2- I bought my phone brand under the name : Sony ‘ERICSSON’ ..
and absolutely some changes are gonna happen..
So, me as a customer i have to worry
(ex: will sony keep supporting the old customer of ‘Sony Ericsson’ ?,
will be the same policy used as before ? )
And for being forced to have to deal with the new side ‘SONY’ ONLY.3- By the way, i didn’t say that sony’s support is the worst !!
i just aiming for the perfectness as much as possible. And if you were looking for the perfect.. look around and check Asus!
4- My main point not about the ics as you think
it’s easy to get unofficial version..!5- When i mentioned about the releasing date, i meant SONY as (big, top, famous..etc) brand
have to care about their name and respect their words..YES i know they are working hard and everything and they’re under pressure but wait..
why they don’t make it clear and announce the real final date ?!!
They have to be more responsible about things like that.6- If you read my last sentence.. you could understand that the aim of my message
is to send a customer’s opinion about how he’s feeling about them..
Trying to advice them as much as i can ..( not to make people think sony is bad !! as you said )
Wishing them more success to continue using their products !

Make the case yourself, upload pictures and more at

I Love my Xperia S. Had the X10 before and could not find a case for it. Needless to say it got battered and scratched. So to joy of having a case for my S is wonderful. I can recommend Classmate. Strong sexy and does not effect the operation of the phone.

D Could you fix the current ics bugs and problem ???????????what is a smartphone for if u cant even play games and poor wifi connection ..
-
Hey Anthony,
I understand the peer pressure for ICS going on with your developer team.
Just wanted to tell that please release it only once they’re totally bug-free, a little delay can be understood. But, what is a buggy Operating System in a Smartphone..??
And yes, please plan the priorities for releasing carefully. I’ve an Xperia Pro. I know Xperia Pro consumers are less compared to mini Pro’s. But, I’d expect an update earlier than all other’s from all those that’re remaining.I know nothing’s in your hands. However, if you can pass on the information to the correct department, it would be helpful.

Hi Abhishek – thanks for your comment,
We’re ensuring our release is up to the standard to meet your expectations and then rolled out accordingly. Keep your eyes on the blog, as we’ll be bringing your more information very, very soon!
I’ll pass your comments on to my colleagues in software development – in the meantime, have you checked out our Developer World (blog http://developer.sonymobile.com/wp/)?

Will it be possible for Sony to work with some of these case makers to design a series of “slate” phones that both looks nice, slim and “mainstream”, while also have the option to fit a case or battery cover that has PS-certified slide-out gamepad, or a proper physical keyboard?
I think Sony really should not abandon what they’ve started with the Xperia Play. New devices are needed NOW to remind developers that Sony is still there if they aspire to make Android games best played with some physical gamepad controls. But then an Xperia Play2 is not going to cut it, because just one device, and a niche one at that, is not going to have enough market share for developers to treat it seriously and dive in head-first with their ideas.
Therefore, I think gamepad attachments to “mainstream”, nice-looking smartphones is one possible solution. It would give developers the impression there are substantial numbers of devices out there that CAN (not necessarily DO in reality) have physical controls, so that they’ll think it’s worthwhile to start coding to utilize them.
Only then, will smartphones with gamepads be more commonplace, and only when that happens will we start to see some nice games on Android that don’t need to shoehorn the entire game idea into the touchscreen controls.

One idea… Why don’t you make all smartphone with the connectors always in the same place? I see that SONY brand as more accessories “made for Ipod / Iphone” than “Made for Walkman” or micro usb, and why? Easy, Apple products have the same connector for ages and always in the same location (bottom). Sometimes success is not a matter of design but logic.
Lets hope for partnership on “made for xperia” or “made for android”
Your truly Sony fan since the Sony CDM-X2000

Hi Anthony, and thanks for ur effort on this blog..
Plz, make sure to deliver this message to Sony developers. We need ICS as soon as possible on our Xperia S… it’s not fair to let us wait till the end of the year… Sony S is now new, it will be kinda old later… We paid a lot to buy it also.. and we need it up-to-date and competing the other great smartphones on the market from other branches.
thanks a lot again

Hey Wael – no worries, appreciate it
Consider it done; I’ll pass your feedback on.

AYUDAAAA!! como puedo descargar PLAYNOW y PS STORE, para mi Xperia S, en MÉXICO! no vienen preinstaladas las aplicaciones en mi Equipo!

I have a horizontal pouch case (3BSYXSP01) from PDair Workshop (www.pdair.com) for my Xperia S, and that seems to be very good. I just received it, and it fits like a glove. The only drawback with this one is that it has a metal magnet button on the middle, and a button like this has broken the glass of the two Nokia phones (N95 and E66) I had before the X10i. The X10i survived a case like that for two years until I recently replaced it with an Xperia S. The clue is to keep your phone in the case with the screen pointed towards your body.

I have looked at CaseMate, AGF, Incipio, Krusell, Dicota, Copter, Muvit, Roxfit, Orbyx and Shinnorie websites and I’m sorry to say that I have seen better and cheaper cases and shells on eBay and Amazon. So I say If you are a Xperia user and looking to Personalize your phone then go to eBay and Amazon or google ie “Xperia 17i cases and shells” for more manufacturas and save your self some money.

Android for phone cases?
It would be really nice to keep the ICS troll comments to relevant discussion threads.
Also, please give just one specific example of what you need ICS for so desperately that makes it worth the pain of an O/S upgrade — I’ve always found it simpler to just replace my phone…

My Xperia S got a software update but while on process Xperia S is getting shut down automatically and it is having the problem on preparing my phone to update, How can i fix that???

Hello Anthony,
I like this thing – Fast responses from your side (SONY). Even though ICS hasn’t been released, we (consumers) still feel relaxed ( a lil bit) that the company is listening and keeping us updated on what’s going on with the developer teams.
Just wanted to say that, thumbs up for that. Waiting for ICS now. I guess your servers might go busy once you release ICS. You see, how many users are waiting for it eagerly. Sony has a lot of potential customers. Don’t let them go away, Anthony!
We want SONY to rule the market.
