WATCH @ IFA
Guten Tag!
We are still here in Berlin at IFA 2012 and wanted to update you guys on some cool stuff we’ve seen today… you could say it has to be seen to be believed….
The Sony booth is split into different areas; Watch, Listen, Create and Play to highlight the immersive experiences you get across the Sony product portfolio – but, they are all linked by the interconnectivity and convergence of the new Sony devices, giving you the ability to enjoy these different experiences across Xperia smartphones, Xperia tablet, VAIO Pcs and BRAVIA TVs…
Today, I paid the WATCH area a visit to share a little of what we are showing here on the stand. Sony is obviously well known for its outstanding displays in the Bravia TV range, and also in its smartphones with Mobile Bravia Engine (The Xperia S recently being awarded the Sharpest Smartphone screen in independent tests). The new 84″ 4k TV on display certainly got my attention, and made my wish list!
Some of the other cool technology on display was wireless screen mirroring from Sony media applications; Album and Movies. These applications allow you to mirror the content on your smartphone or tablet and enjoy it on the big screen. Never has sharing photos and movies with your nearest and dearest been so simple and awe inspiring. It’s pretty cool stuff!
Check out the video above and pics below - anyone looking forward to Skyfall as much as me? :–)
Will…
PS. Thanks for all your comments and questions during IFA so far – early next week, we’ll be rounding them up and answering in a dedicated post. So, if there’s anything you’d like to know or are unsure about, please drop it below!

Really wondering how it was done. Clearly it’s nothing like the current offering DLNA Play-on-Device, which only acts as a media server.
The wireless screen mirroring is MUCH better, if it can preserve the image quality.
Another question: how about audio when screen mirroring?

I bought Xperia U – ST25i in Sep 2012 (from Sony Authorized Showroom, Navyug Market, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India), I was diappointed to see it’s unsatisfactory behavior. I installed the update (Ver 4.0.4, Build 6.1.1.B.1.1.0) in 2nd week of Oct 2012, and hoped things will become better… but I never got anything gud out of it. 1) Camera gives worst pictures, double-tapping on the screen itself breaks up 5MP image into pixels. All photos burst on desktop, Worst camera ever produced by sony. 2) Music is nice with earplugs, but full volume of the speaker is still low. 3) Android’s latest update hangs too much, almost everyday it needs a restart. 4) “Facebook integration with xperia” does not works, in fact it crashes when u enable it. 5) can’t create folder of shortcuts (like media folder on the main screen) Where is customization of You (xperia u)? ……… I would request the Team to release a stable update at the earliest, bcoz we can’t talk about patience if somebody is getting tortured with crashing apps and black screens (when u unlock xperia U).
