September 25, 2012 - 2:55 PM

Guys,

I’d like to invite you to join our Xperia Treasure Hunt – you could win a trip to Tokyo with an Xperia J to take along with you!

We spent last week burying treasure across Facebook, YouTube, this blog and SonyMobile.com –  have a dig-around (sorry), and let us know how many coins we’ve hidden to be in with a chance of winning!

Ant.

Your resources would be better utilized by RELEASING ICS UPDATE to Xperia U, Sola. Rather then providing childish blog posts.

This is still not the post we have been highly anticipating since the post that said “in few weeks time”.

This is really not expected by a company such as SONY……

Ant, you have burried gold coins so its better u take them all and go to tokya, because sony customers are in hell with sony smartphone unstable and ancient OS foe their latest smartphones. Your cheap promotions forXperia J with tokya trip and xperia T with bond. Sony customers can understand your tactical attitude of promotions as no new or old customers will even come near your new smartphones, since they know your way of treating existing customers by not giving proper updates and latest updates and choose cheap tactise of selling new phones with the help of trip bond etc since you know that sony smartphones are low level and untrustworthy.

First release ICS for Xperia U, Sola, Go. Then release new Sony media applications, bug free jelly bean update to 2011, 2012 Xperia smartphones. Because the current stock media applications in 2011 xperia smartphones is below average, latest ics firmware 4.1.B.587 is still having bugs and not smooth. if you provide these features to your customers quickly, you will get more customers & become a No 1 Android smartphone maker soon.

Maybe they’ve hidden ICS for Xperia U, Go and Sola also, and we have to find it…

Anthony, I’ve been told by the moderators on forums and Sony’s support about weekly based SI update for my xperia mini pro. That’s two weeks with adding any new SI numbers. You should read forums really, we are sony customers, people who invested our money in sony products, instead of getting htc, samsung, lg, nokia.. I feel like it’s a personal abuse to threat us like that with ICS, Jelly bean updates and silence. HTC JB is october, samsung JB is rolling out .. Here we have silence. I know your job is to tell us about new products, to write articles, but you’re part of Sony company..

Here is what user Borek said on forums:
START WORKING SONY, DO SOMETHING SONY… YOU DON’T HAVE A LOT OF TRIES… THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE YOU HAVE WITH ME, AND MANY OTHER CUSTOMERS… WE ALL ARE SERIOUSLY THIKING “NEVER AGAIN SONY”… WE ARE ALL MAD, ANGRY AND TIRE OF WAITING… ALL BECAUSE OF YOUR CUSTOMER CARE, YOUR SPEED…. ETC..

Super user Uliwooly: To Sony Moderators and Community Manager(s)

There are multiple threads and posts with the same questions and this will NOT going to stop until Sony release a full official statement on this,

Who is in charge of approving the SIM Free updates per country?
Who approve last Sony or a Carrier in the case that it’s locked to a carrier?
Did Sony received a Jelly Bean PDK?
Will Sony fulfill or break the “AT LEAST” 18months software updates commitment/agreement at Google I/O 2011?
How come the 2012 Xperias with the same or lower hardware specs, compared to the 2011 Xperias, run ICS smooth w/o all the 2011 lag/crashing issues?
On the same subject as 5. Is sony going to fix all this issues and release an update to the 2011 Xperias w/o bugs?
On the subject as 4. Will the Xperia Arc, Play, Neo and Pro will no longer be supported at the end of August? as it will be 18months since they were released
Will the Current Xperia S be overclocked like the Xperia SL as this “new” xperia S will have the same hardware as the current Xperia S just overclocked CPU?
Will Sony improve the Camera/Picture/Video quality? is this a hardware or software limitation? there are some users experiencing focus issues with the Xperia S, is this a hardware issue that must be recalled?

Xperia S should be overclocked with new software update to 1,7 or 1,8Ghz as SL since it is the same hardware… If not, it is going to avoid me of buying Sony products during firsts month of the year ‘couse every year (from Arc) it is going to repeat this scenario. The new product is on the market, half a year later the same product with faster – overclocked processor is released…

This happened once to Arc –> Arc S, now to Xperia S –> SL :(
    I don’t like it.

    Hello everyone.

Do you know that yesterday Samsung released Android 4.1 JellyBean for Galaxy S3? One month earlier than it was announced.

The most interesting is fact that Poland is the first country in the world to get this update. Now I am wondering: is the sell of this device as huge in my country to reward its users with getting the update earlier than others?

However, advertisement of Galaxy S3 is really huge in Poland. It is simply everywhere: especially in TV, newspapers, internet, enormous ones on the buildings in big cities, simply everywhere.
Sony is this possible to know the sell of your products in Poland? I’m interested in which products sell the best in my country. That would be nice to know :)

Despite Samsung, I will stick with Sony (don’t know for how long), but still waiting for JellyBean for Xperia S. C’mon Sony, it is almost October! Why there is not a word about 4.1 update?? You always have to be the last on the market with hardware and especially soft? :(
And who knows when Sony will release a device with quad Snaprdagon S4 Pro and 2GB of RAM. The first is going to be LG…

Any comments (especially from Sony) would be welcomed.
    Regards,
    Marcin.

I really wonder what you guys are doing there, I really do. It appears that a second ICS firmware has been certified, yet we are all still waiting for the first one to arrive (and this one has been certified a month ago now!) Sony really likes to anger its customers huh?

yesterday, new firmware has been certified for the Sony Xperia handsets running on the NovaThor U8500 chipset. Firmware version 6.1.1.B.1.10 has appeared on the PTCRB website for the Xperia U, Xperia go and Xperia sola. This could end up being the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update due to land on these handsets very soon

    Hi all
2 days ago actualize my xperia mini ics 4.1.B.587 the latest firmware, but I think Sony could put an update with the latest applications that have the xperia G, GX, as the Home Launcher app album, walkman facebook plication continues still very slow should choose an application that goes in the sd to publish photos and states, Sony should do a survey of all users that should bring smartphone apps in its internal memory.
    thanks

Ya exactly!!!!! Sony is just joking!! :@
Its not a gud sign since b’cause of it the customers have no trust on the company now to wich extent would the delay the ICS update for xperia u ,sola and the other xperia smart phones !!!!!!!!
Th is not only it but does the company have any idea that the illumination bar given on U is just not compatible in proper order!! Its beeen just 3 to four months i’ve bougth U but its showing very poor illumination!!!!!! Its like I would have bought Samsung galaxy ace plus on the same range!!!!!

Two months back when Anthony writes a blog, more then 400 Sony customers used to replies, comments, after unstable ICS, no response to comments, not giving proper latest update-able phone models and neglecting valuable existing customers we can see hardly 15 sony customers that too unsatisfied customers reply to anthony’s writing in this blog. This shows how sony has become unpopular, more over sony is promoting new Xperia T ( without 4G LTE ) xperia J not convincing model compared to Xperia U which is still in ancient OS. Sony should look in to this matter seriously and update GB to ICS and announce Jellybean asap, already it is too late since customers are stop commenting in this blog and might have found better smartphones

“Sony should look in to this matter seriously and update GB to ICS and announce Jellybean asap” absolutely agree wi that, people are telling people about their experience with a device they have, it’s a better ad and promotion to keep customers happy as they would advise their friends and members of family about experience they have. How would someone expect an owner of xperia who’s waiting for ICS update since June to advise his friend to get a Sony device? It looks like Sony messed up with android software for some reason.. Perhaps not enough engineers, perhaps Sony think that software isn’t a main priority. But then people just choose different company who’s better dealing with updates. That’s really sad.

This is so pathetic, still have the old ICS release for my MINI PRO and no noise about ICS for my SOLA, not even a comment on all the stuff written here. If you want to do marketing, but it on your website and facebook, but not on the PRODUCT BLOG where everybody waiting for an anouncement about roll out of ICS, of some noise on JB…
