We’re XDA-developers’ OEM of the Year!

November 15, 2012 - 10:54 AM

Guys,

It’s fair to say there are a few smiles in the office this morning as XDA-developers has named Sony “OEM* of the Year”!

XDA-developers is a 4 million strong mobile development community, running for almost a decade – it offers support, discussion and development of mobile platforms.

It’s a huge honour to be recognised for our openness and initiatives as XDA’s 2012 original equipment manufacturer and a testament to the pioneering work of my Developer World colleagues.

We’re looking forward to continuing our collaboration with the tech and dev community, so watch this space :)

Ant.

*OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer, basically referring to phone manufacturers.

Instead of celebrating that XDA-developers are doing all the work, you might solve some bugs in Android 4.0 ICS for 2011 Xpera users!?

For over five months now, the notification-LED of my Xperia arc S is not working and there is still not a single hint how Sony is going to solve that issue…

It’s no wonder, Sony gives them lots of work by not doing theirs. It is XDA who will support 2011 customers abandoned by Sony with poor excuses, and it’s XDA who will also support 2012 customers.

An amazing forward change from Sony and an awesome award from xda..
It will be a win-win for developers, manufacturer and consumer down the road with more stable applications.

The worst customer service that a company can have is Sony, they dont have an email where you can complain, or a superior who watch these people, just send a complaint about something and say” I’m sorry we can not help, do it manually ” I have more than seven months waiting to update my xperia arc and still not updated and no one shows his face on the matter only to wait, which is that service, service is crap, no one helps you solve the problems, there are thousands of complaints and Sony does nothing and NOT COME ANY OF THOSE THAT ARE IN CHAT TO ANSWER, IF NOT ONE PERSON Sony direct an engineer or a person who is going to decide not answer that I’m tired of cheap excuses and nobody says tell me what is the problem I will solve
