New Ice Cream Sandwich software version for Xperia™ P, Xperia™ U, Xperia™ go and Xperia™ sola
Hello everyone – some exciting news…
We’ve started rolling out* a new software update for Xperia P, Xperia U, Xperia go and Xperia sola that brings bug fixes and performance tweaks.
The Ice Cream Sandwich firmware includes improvements to: stability, WiFi, tethering/portable hotspot, camera (capture and playback), NFC and Messaging.
All Xperia P users will get a notification when the upgrade is ready, but direct availability in the phone may vary across different markets and carriers.
For Xperia U, Xperia go and Xperia sola users – if you’ve already upgraded to ICS, you’ll receive a notification in your phone and be able to download it over-the-air. For those guys on Gingerbread, you’ll need to plug in and upgrade using PC Companion or Bridge for Mac. For more information, please visit http://www.sonymobile.com/update

+2 to this, Seems like new joinees in the organization developed this phone. Including its Operating system. I had my faith in this brand as I have used four phones from Sony before.. and with this phone we have lost our faith.. The brand value.. Well done.

Dear Nouman Hashmi, my advice please don’t purchase sony mobiles(not only sola) because i m using sony xperia sola last 4 months when i purchase this mobile that time it was 20,000 INR now the price going too slow (14,500 INR) that is the best example for you. and it will not comparable for update if try to update then the mobile function affecting, battery back up is very poor.

hey, whats wrong with the camera……… using flash it takes like trash… its half dark.
and after restarting my phone… its ok but within a few minute its turned back that problem.

Hi After updating my Xperia P to Latest Firmware Version 6.1.1.B.1.54, Th camera has become a big problem.
When i try to capture the Images in 8 Megapixels Resolution with flash, Half of the Image is Black… Not only me who is facing this issue there are many users facing this problem after updating( You can find them on (talk.sonyericsson.com support form)
Kindly release the Fix for the same immediately…Reply to this is Appreciated, Thanks in advance

I am happy too with these updates and everything works well… If you bought a Samsung phone you would drain into 2.3.xx and nothing more! So long life to Sony mbile Xperia phones?

I really like my Xperia go,
just got it, it came with ICS
Installed, but there is a couple of bugs
And slowdowns to be corrected -
Sony, what is the reason of Update Center application in Xperia? I mean Xperia S. Since I have the device and refreshing this app it never said that anything needs an update.I encountered the same on Xperia Arc S earlier. I don’t understand what for installing this app.
Could you please explain?

looks like nobody responds here from Sony ericsson, well I post it anyway .I bought the xperia mini two weeks ago. Updated it to 4.1. immediately as the saleguy recommeded. Day after I started having extra noises and other voice issues. Retuned to service and got it back it was downgraded back to 2.3 Tried to upgrade, But the pc software wont let me finish , comes with error and tried again 15 times and now it wont work!

Did you realize that SONY is trying the best for us? So dont give fuc***g complaints to them! Even Im using Arc S (which is 2011 device) dont give sh*t to them. It was also their fault for producing too much models. FYI, Xperia J was coupled with an older processor but was produced this year. Maybe SONY just want to give them fresh first and the last update for Xperia J. Well my phone has gone through a few update, isn’t it? I still feel happy with ICS because no other phone developer want to give an update to ICS to their device. Example? Samsung Galaxy W, Ace etc. Besides, SONY will keep all XPERIA 2011 phone to keep well maintained with ICS. NOTE: IF YOU WANT A LONG TERM SUPPORT PHONE FROM ANDROID, GO GET A NEXUS PHONE!!!
