Overview

Substance control is a subject close to our heart. We don’t just comply with laws and regulations: we make a point to be a step ahead of them.

Sony Mobile has implemented and fully supports the precautionary principle defined in the United Nations Rio Declaration on Environment and Development, and we comply with the EU RoHS II (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directive. But for us, that’s not enough. We go beyond current regulations by banning or restricting the use of substances that we consider critical substances in our products for environmental or health reasons.

To us, it’s important to be transparent in all that we do. Through our public Environmental Declarations, we present the most relevant environmental aspects of every model and invite any interested parties to obtain factual information about each and every phone.
