Minecraft: Pocket Edition gets Survival Mode!

This past week saw Minecraft: Pocket Edition revamped, bringing Survival Mode to mobile devices for the first time…

Update 0.2.0 brings a more creative and action-orientated experience; adding doors, fences, fence gate blocks and tools for digging and sheep-shearing. But, wait there just a second – nothing entitled ‘survival’ would be complete without a bloodthirsty threat right? Well, the update also features zombies – you can choose to either fight them off or flee for safety!

That’s not all – Mojang’s Minecraft head-honcho, Daniel ‘Kappische’ Kaplan, speaking exclusively in an Xperia Games webinar last night, said gamers could look forward to further updates down-the-line;

“We want to replicate the fan-favourite aspects of our PC version across mobile devices, to provide the best Minecraft experience possible. Right now we’re looking at including: revamped Crafting, improved touchscreen controls and new blocks and mobs, along with a heap of other features that’ll be exclusive to Pocket Edition”
