Xperia X10 research candidates

Hi all,

Spent the week in Barcelona for MWC and you probably have followed the reporting. Massive interest in Xperia X10 and overwhelming positive introduction of X10 mini and X10 mini pro, which I can´t help to reiterate.

Back to X10.

One Sony Ericsson research programme that is about to start relates to user experience. From the very first moment of opening up the box, the first period of getting started and  views after a weeks usage. This in order to learn from user behaviour and get valuable feedback as input for future releases.

We will run a conventional research programme by recruiting users through our agencies. In addition, I am very happy to announce that we will for the very first time allow recruitment among yourself as I believe you are such a great representation of knowledge and passion. We will be looking for 2-4 persons that are interested to use the device and are committed to give constructive feedback.

However I am at the same time sorry to say that there are some limitations about this recruitment. It will require a face to face meeting and since I am driving this as an additional pilot, we can only cope with Sweden (Stockholm and south Sweden) and UK, greater London area. I am really sorry for that as there as so many of you that I would like to give this opportunity to as you are great contributors to this forum. Your interest about the device is evident from your activeness on the blog to date, which will of course be considered but at the same time I would like to see who else might be interested.

This is a pilot and going further, we might be able to do this in somewhat greater scale for the upcoming products based on interest etc.

The candidate will be needed to answer questions/send a report on the usage a couple of times over course of months time and be willing to meet face to face for a deep interview, either at our premises or even at their resident.

If, you are interested please post a short introduction of yourself in the comments section below, please include the following:

-          Complete name

-          Age

-          Location

-          Occupation

-          Blog or equivalent if applicable

-          Short motivation why you would be a suitable candidate in less than twenty words

I would appreciate If I could close the application process by Tuesday next week.

Have a great weekend

Sumit

    Hello !

I’m Guillaume BORYCKI, I’ve 21 years old and I am french.
I read that you just want Swenden or English people but, what ever, I try it ! ^^
I really be interested by the X10 device. I am waiting this phone during about 6 mouths and I know all the caracteristics and all the fonctionalities of the sofware and I can use this phone because of the 1001 videos that I’ve seen on YouTube, etc.

I’m studying the international trade and I could be available when you want to give my opinion or give interviews.

Even if I’m not taken for this program I wish you all the best and…could the X10 put on the market quickly because my NOKIA’s battery will die in few weeks or days ! ;)

    Best Regards !

He’s still comfortably sitting at the top though, so pretty sure he won’t be gone for long.

A serious tester will have a systematic approach to testing that they can hold to any recognized scenario without reluctance. The one I got many another moons previous was to document the tests for pulling a can from a lemonade vending machine. I did the entire requirements, studied the testing environs, assured the machine was fit for testing and set about the “tests”. Put in too little money, get money given back, put in correct money, have money refunded etc. Then when I did finally press vend, the can got stuck instead of descending to the tray. So I employed the “workaround” of rocking the machine with my shoulder. My report concluded that the machine was sporadically unfit for use unless a physio could also be set up in the building to deal with the manifold sensitive shoulder joints that would result from its execution.

Nothing new, just proofing my point that the X10′s Scapes are running seamlessly now. She did not that it’s still a bit sticky when running multiple apps though.

Ok, 2 things I would like to see on the X10, that the Minis have, aside from the freaking awesome speed,
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8UPJgPZiuQ
If you notice, when you pull up the android apps on the Mini, it still uses your own wallpaper, just opens a window on top :)
And second, the accelerometer on the minis, (also blazing fast)works everywhere, not just medias it seems. Whereas unless I’m mistaken, the accelerometer on the X10 isn’t used in Timescape or even the home screen.

    - After being excited to replace my C905 with the Satio and being intially impressed with the screen/camera I have become disenchanted with the Symbian interface and lack of quirky apps. I’m looking to the X10 to escape the cult of Apple and revitalise my excitement in the SE brand again.

But SE is stirring my excitement.

It’s still unannounced world wide actually. As of now, Vodafone, and Rodgers in Canada are the only confirmed carriers, sometime in April. But it’s going to Japan, and the U.S. probably T-Mobile. And hopefully O2 in the U.K. also.
