Exmor R™ for mobile

Three of our new products share the same amazing camera sensor called Exmor R™ for mobile from Sony. The benefit of the technology is increased light sensitivity which gives the Xperia™ arc, Xperia™ neo and Xperia™ pro superior low-light abilities.

In our stand we show this using closed boxes with different scenery inside and we let our visitors try out the phones and compare them to the phones they have themselves. The difference they see is quite stunning where most other phones actually end up having a totally black image missing the photo opportunity totally.

We shot this short clip with Legolas showing us the demo in our stand.

Wow really excited about all the new stuff at MWC! 3D phones, mobile quad cores. Being that the Arc is farther behind on hardware than the X10 was it will be interesting to see how SE does with support. The new quad core is supposed to be in phones by the end of the year. If SE supports the Arc and puts out a 3D phone with the latest hardware and a great camera they might just win me back.

    I’m back!
have been obvserving everything from the side, and, although that hardware wise arc is not the best thing out there, i must say I just fell for his design and I think it will be my next phone.
I must comment on something and ask somethings.
I think Se xperia arc picture quality still need more tunning before going to the market, the noise algorithm reduction is a little harsh and it a little oversharpning stuff.
do you think it will be improved before going to be released, and when will it release?
also, from what i heard, the loudspeaker is really loud and clear, is that true? thanks.

also, is the sound ACC stereo or mono? is it recorded from the 2nd mic on the back of the arc?
and i must say the quality is amazing for night condition.

I don’t like the pics.. too much noise and oversharping. Even in daylight too much noise and oversharping artefacts. And I observed in (corners) low- right corner.. a lens issue. or sensor issue.. :(
My Aino takes better pictures than Arc. The quality of the Arc pictures could be imporoved before release??

Koss, unfortenetly I think exacly the same…
for example, the galaxy s II has AMAZING quality.. compared to the arc.. I really dont get it since exmor should be noise free.. its really weird and i hope it won stay the same…

I would like to know what is the use of the sensor if there is no xenon flash. I doubt it can take night shots.

I think is useless in taking decent night shots without xenon flash.. It will takes night shots but with awfull quality ( the samples from prereleased unit demonstrated this fact)

    Dear Rikard,

I live in Saudi Arabia, and contacted SE HQ to ask if the new Xperia Arc, neo, play and pro will have Android Market, and they told me unfortunaltey not due to Google’s market restrictions.

How can this be when HTC and Samsung in the middle east have android market pre-installed (i have seen them on my friends phones, fresh out the box). And their HQ have told the public here it has them,so its not a rooted device.

I am very dissapoitned and will refrain from buying the Arc if there is no Andoird market because it defeats the purpose of having an android phone when you have to search for difficuilt ways to get apps, instead of just pressing the market button.

I hope you can fix this and help improve SE’s reputation here in Saudi Arabia.

Thank you for your time and understanding.

Please email me if you want to further discuss ramzisamara@hotmail.com
