Support Videos & More

Now my friends over in our customer service team have started to push out their material around our new phones.

For those of you new to Android or the Xperia range there lots of goodies around the basics and the different features over at their youtube channel at www.youtube.com/sonyericssonsupport

Many of these videos go more into details about specific features and help you find answers to common questions. You also find videos made for your specific phone in the Support Application in your phone. You find that  in the application tray or by clicking the Support Widget on the rightmost desktop pane. (As shown in the picture above with the headline “Experience More”)

I know that many of you here are very much in the know on how to use your phones but for those of you a bit new to Android or our Xperia range these can hopefully assist quite a bit. Perhaps some of you have suggestions on what you think we should educate more around? If so, please let me know in the comments section. One big advantage of having this kind of dynamic support application is that we can update the content in it to help out with things we find many consumers have questions around.

If you need support in any way don’t ever hesitate to contact your local Sony Ericsson support center or find your way over to our support forum at talk.sonyericsson.com

Here’s one of the videos they made to explain the basics and some of the features of Xperia arc.

Oh please bring the phone to Germany already. I’ve been bugging my local O2 dealers pretty much everyday but they don’t even know when they’re gonna get one…. and I want to buy one now!

    Hi Juhani,
    -
Glad to hear you are excited about the release of this handset. We don’t hold specific release information here so I would recommend contacting the support team in Germany to see if they have a release date they can provide you with :)

You really should work on the battery life of your android phones! :(

@thomas – The battery life is fairly comparable to all other smart phones of similar specs.. better than most too.. So if you’re having problems then it’s more likely to be an app you’ve downloaded which isn’t “sleeping” when the phone’s in standby mode.. or you’ve got a task killer running and you’ve not set it up properly.. auto killing stuff that the phone needs to run, for example, will cause battery drain and performance problems.

@iceman: thanks for the comment. Was referring to the X10 mini…dont know about the Arc. Have to recharge it every day :( (have turned off almost everything too)
Compare that to the W880i which I had to recharge every 4-5 days (!)

@thomas, I guess that Arc is your 1st mass-screen phone. Actually, it is ordinary for a phone with big screen to have a daily charge.

    Aimee or Rikard!

I want to know, how is the right method to charge the battery.
First i have to consume the charge when i put the battery the first time? Then i have to charge the battery about 12 hours or 8 hours?

After that, i have to repeat this process 2 or 3 times to finaly use the phone with the right battery charge?

    Thanks =D

@Thomas – your w880i wasn’t a smartphone – you’re unlikely to get more than 2 days out of any smartphones.. and I’d reiterate that rapid batter drain is usually caused by bad apps..
    .
@Filippe – With Li-Pol batteries you don’t need that.. just charge it.. and try to avoid it completely draining too often..

Support? Like getting 2.1 for the X10? Or some kind of status update, at least? All I see at that link are other customers telling us to debrand the phone.

Does anyone know why the Xperia Play is priced higher than the Xperia Arc in Europe but the same price in US/Canada?

Hi there, I would like to asked that Xperia arch video recording why it doesn’t have a pause button? It can’t pause while I need to take a second shoot for a few minute there. Hope your team should work it out like Vivaz, & the battery consumption is not accurate. I use it not long lasting for a day campare with the Xperia X10.
