As you might have seen from the earlier post here on the blog or on our global Facebook page we have been running a competition with our Facebook fans to be the first to review one of two new phones before they were even fully announced.

From all the applicants in that competition (and I tell you there were many!) we chose a few that was sent phones to create video reviews of them.

That work is now done and four out of these reviews will be published on our global Facebook page where the one that gets the most likes from the fans will win the competition and besides the enormous glory also get 10 phones for themselves and their friends and family. :-)

It’s now also time to fully introduce these two new feature phones:

The Sony Ericsson Mix WalkmanTM phone

The Sony Ericsson Mix WalkmanTM phone is a music touch phone that truly focuses on entertainment. It includes a feature called ZappinTM that lets you browse through your songs in a fun way by automatically being served the chorus of the songs while skipping through them. It also has a cool karaoke mode that lowers the vocal track of any song while you play it. The look of the phone can also be personalized with exchangeable color bands that run along the edge of the phone making it possible to give your phone different looks for different occasions.

Sony Ericsson txt pro

The Sony Ericsson txt pro is a phone with focus on social communication. It has a slide out qwerty keyboard for quick messaging and the integrated friends application enables you to add your five best friends for easy access to their feeds from Facebook and Twitter.

Both of these new phones support Wi-Fi and have a four corner touch based user interface inspired from the XperiaTM mini range.

Both of them will be available in selected markets from Q3.

For more information on the new phones and the full press release, stop by our Press Room.

To see the top four finalists in our review competition hop over to the competition page on our global Facebook page and make sure to vote for your favorite!

Hello SE, anyone listening? Can’t you tell that by leaving nearly three months since your initial X10 Gingerbread announcement without any further information you make yourselves look just pathetic.

Is this how you hope to foster good customer relations – by ignoring those who have already bought your kits, and then trying to tempt us with new shiny phone? All the ridiculous comments aside, you really do let yourselves down with such awful customer services. I’m sure you’ll tell us it’s for our own good and that you wanted to test everything, but the problem is that no-one wants to listen to your excuses again, especially when your new range of phones seem to be getting very quick updates?

You’re really missing the point – no-one wants to buy your phnes because you don’t deliver to customers! It’s really that simple – don’t you read the messages and blogs all of the world? I guess you think you’re big enough to ignore us and carry on regardless and for a lot of people that will probably be ok as they’ll just carry on the same way themselves, not changing their phones etc. which they might well do, but it’s sad to think a global “leader” behaves this way. Like I said, PATHETIC.

You want to be Number 1 on Android, and you can’t even update all your Xperias to 2.3.3?
    Are you kidding with me?

Was there a real need to release Walkman and Text Pro phones? I think not. The features of these two phones could easily have been incorporated into the current Xperia family.

More phones models requires more resources in terms of planning, development, training and support. Customers want proper software support throughout the product life cycle (atleast one year).

SE rather focus on an all-in-one super phone and then possibly a budget phone.

@HUMANOID, The phones look pretty cheap. Not everyone can afford the Play or Arc so having multiple phones in different segments would appeal to a larger crowd.
