A while ago we ran a competition on Facebook where our fans got to compete on being the first to review on of our two upcoming feature phones Sony Ericsson txt pro and Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman phone. Some of them got phones for review and finally four was selected as the finalists. The video reviews from these four finalists where put on Facebook where the other fans could select the winner by using the like button.

The assignment was a tricky one, record a video review that should show the phone in a creative and informative way – all this in only 45 seconds!

The one with the most likes was Pavan from India. Congratulations Pavan!
Here’s his review of the Sony Ericsson txt pro:

Some of my colleagues made a short interview with Pavan to get to know a bit more about him, why he entered this competetion and what he’s going to do with the prize:

Can you tell us a bit about yourself? – I am from Bangalore studying 3rd year Engineering course in Don Bosco Institute Of Technology.

Why did you enter the reviewer competition? – When I came across the review competition, I felt like this is something different, something unique, asking customers to make a review of a brand new phone. So I just had my 50 words submitted in seconds.

What did you think of the competition? – It’s the first time I have taken part in such a huge competition. Right from making the review video to the voting part I enjoyed every bit of it.

Have you always been a fan of Sony Ericsson? – Yes! I have always been a fan of Sony Ericsson. I love the walkman phones you make.

What do you usually look for in a phone? – Apps! A phone which supports a lot of apps would be an ideal phone for me.

What was your favourite feature of the Sony Ericsson txt pro phone? – I liked the Friends App and the threaded way of displaying messages. Both features make texting fun and easy!

Will you recommend the txt pro to your friends? – My friends are already excited to receive the phones!!!!!

What is your favourite Sony Ericsson phone? – My fav is the Xperia X10. One because it’s sleek and second I love the Timespace app it has.

Did you expect to get so many votes and great comments? – Initially I wished the judges selected the final winner, but as the voting went on I was happy to see my LIKES going up by 100 each day.

Now you have won the prize how are you going to decide on how to share the phones? – This is harder than winning the competition. I am waiting for the phones to decide on sharing.

Hey Pavan, congrats! You’re the only person I know who’s been interviewed! :D

Also, getting ELEVEN phones from Sony Ericsson is worth having any insult thrown at you by random people on the Internet ;)

Yea, it’s called TIMESCAPE!! I doubt he has a X10.

As a X10 user, I really can’t be bothered by someone who received eleven FEATURE PHONES which are aimed at low-income people.

In fact, an Indian winner is appropriate, considering their standards of living. In Japan, we only buy phones like XPERIA X10, ARC, etc. There is a reason why these feature phones NEVER enter the Japanese market.

And if it’s the sleek design you like, it’s shouldn’t be x10, it should be the arc , your best phone. :-D

    @Takumi:
You snobby piece of Japanese Shit
So he said something else instead of Timescape..What’s the big deal? Most of my friends who don’t have Sony Ericsson Android phones have never even heard of it.
And ‘In fact, an Indian winner is appropriate, considering their standards of living.’
I can see you’ve never been to India

@pngface: The “BIG DEAL” is that he IS LYING! If he has a X10, he will not make this mistake. After all, Timescape is a signature application by Sony Ericsson for the Xperia series.

“Most of my friends who don’t have Sony Ericsson Android phones have never even heard of it.”—Um…are you proud to say this? LMAO!!! In fact, you just proved my point, and thanks for quoting my line. XD!!

I would rather commit suicide than going there. I have Indian friends and they hate the country themselves. Power cuts, roads being a public toilet, shanties, train derailment. Please don’t even think of comparing Indian to Japan. And ofcourse, speaking of the standards of living, you should check the HDI(Human Development Index) ranking of Japan and India. Denying facts shows ignorance and nothing else.

@Takumi: So tell me, smart ass, where does it say that he has an X10? Also, wouldn’t that contradict your idea of India being full of poor people who can’t afford much?
Who was comparing India to Japan? Where did I say anything about Japan? But if you want to, sure…
Take a look at the Forbes 2011 list of World’s Billionaires. There are 7 Indians in that list. How many Japanese? 0. Your friends might not like their country, but don’t use them as an excuse to generalize the entire nation. I have never visited Japan myself so I don’t pass judgement on it and I don’t see how you claim to know so much about India without even having visited there.

All I see is someone who is jealous that he didn’t win. The grapes are pretty sour, aren’t they?

@pngface: um…you ARE comparing the two nations right now.
When we compare countries, we compare the standards of living of the entire nation. HDI is one of the methods. If you are talking about individual billionaires, you are actually insulting your own country. Due to government corruption and failures, the wealth of the country is controlled by a handful of people. WHAT A SHAME!!

If he doesn’t have a X10, why will he love the timescape app it has? Xperia arc/neo/play/pro have a better version of Timescape.

Lastly, OH MY GOD!!! AS AN OWNER OF XPERIA X10 AND ARC, I AM SO JEALOUS OF SOMEONE GETTING 10 TEXT PROS!!! I’M GONNA CRY NOW!!!

Like I said, these phones do not enter japanese market for a reason.

My friends grew up in India. For them to hate their own country, God knows what India did to them….LOL!!

If you are wondering why a Japanese can type so much English, the answer is I grew up in US and I AM in a position to comment that his accent is GAYYYYYYYYY!

You know what, I’m tired of all these winners coming from that shitty country that is India. You better make sure there are some winners from EU countries, where you actually do sell some phones.
And stop thinking that placing the Arc in the Teen Wolf series will win you the US teenagers. That is not a phone for crazed hormones teenagers with sexed-up apetites.
