On Monday afternoon, we mistakenly posted a promo offering Xperia owners 50GB of free storage via the Box for Android mobile app. While we’re really excited about working with Box down the road, this offer is not active today. We are in the midst of finalising the details of this promotion and are working to provide this offer very soon to all Xperia customers so stay tuned!

I’ve already downloaded the Box Android app. Does this have consequences for the 50 gb promotion?

Yeah so did I… Does this mean I miss out on my 50GB?
I’m not going to be very impressed if that is the case, and I will be seeking advice from the Department of Fair Trading if it is, on the grounds of false advertising…

Rumour has it that this is a UK only offer. Any truth in that?

Well the original post did not state “UK only” and again, if Sony Ericsson don’t honor the offer, I will be seeking legal advice… Already we are missing out on the LiveView offer because it’s Europe-only and the simple fact is, you don’t make an offer like this unless you’re going to back it up.

This is some what disappointing, after thinking, do I really need another online storage space app other than DropBox, I thought “Well for 50gigs of space for free, I might as well go for it”.
Only to find out that this was all a lie.
Back to Dropbox it is then.

I am SO disappointed !!!
You guys can’t just promote an offer and take it back – and you’re not even telling the reason why ?? Don’t SE got any Goodwill about this stuff?
This feels so cheap.
Disappointed Xperia Arc Owner.
