Category Archives: sample pictures
Thought I would post some more samples. Some of them are based on your requests, like one indoor low light portrait with flash and a macro from a totally dark room with flash.
Some more details around that dark room flash macro is that I took it on a lime green carpet in a totally dark room. I would estimate the distance from lens to the toy to be around 10 cm. As expected the flash was a little bit too strong on such close distance, I adjusted the exposure down with around 0,5eV and got the result below. I would say that the colors of the carpet and the toy itself are fairly spot on to be such a special set up.The flash pic of my daughter could have used some red-eye removal afterwards which would fix it easily but here I want to share everything unedited so it’s all straight out of Satio – no editing at all.
Feedback and comments are appreciated as always!
Here are some sample photos that I’ve shot during the summer.. the oldest ones are actually from late april (so please consider early HW and SW at that time!)
I’ve tried to put together a mix of different pictures from daylight landscape to late sunsets and macros. I also threw in a daily life portrait of my daughter.
As you’ll see they are all in 16:9 format, mainly because I like it better from an esthetic point of view – I’ll post some full 12 MP 4:3 samples later!
Comments, feedback or requests for other types of photos is of course highly appreciated!
Hi and welcome to the Satio Launch Blog.
My name is Rikard Skogberg and I work as the product marketing manager for the Sony Ericsson Satio in the Nordic region. Starting from today I will through this blog try to keep you updated on information regarding Satio and all of its applications.
Until the launch of Satio I will be dedicated to giving you information about all the features of the phone, shooting photos and videos to give you an understanding of the camera capabilities, interviewing interesting people involved with the development and design of Satio, and much more.
But most of all – I’m here to engage with you! I will try to answer your questions posted in the comments section (yes, that is the only way to ask me questions since I find it the most practical way to handle them) and also find out what you think through polls.
I also need your feedback on what to write about so please start off by giving me ideas of what you’d like to know more about! I hope there are lots of things you want me to test, specific camera test cases etc etc.
To start things: here’s a picture of myself that I shot last night using the Satio.
I know it’s not the best example picture to really show off the camera capabilities (low lighting, tired model, shaky hand) but I thought I would start off showing you a little bit of who I am and also make sure to have the real star of the blog (Satio) in the picture!
(And for the really observant readers – yes I didn’t want to show our logo mirrored so I needed to flip it, I made sure to use a lossless JPG-operation though so I don’t think it should have affected the picture quality more than just the horizontal flip.)
