We’ve talked about Xperia Studio before in this blog, and every time, I am completely blown away by the great and cool things they are doing with  our Xperia Smartphones and very unique and creative people.

For their most recent challenge, Xperia Studio joined forces with Android game developers Pixelbite/Polarbit and car-engineer Dr. James Brighton to recreate Pixelbite’s popular Reckless Racing 2, in real life – using two life sized cars controlled entirely remotely by Xperia phones

Barcelona bound for #mwc2012

Well, really exciting times are ahead! And we are so happy we get to share them with you.

This time, we will be telling you all about everything that is going on at Mobile World Congress  in Barcelona, where we will be having great announcements and events, for the first time as Sony Mobile Communications.

The event, first held more than 20 years ago, is the world’s largest mobile exhibition and brings together operators, manufacturers, providers – along with anyone and everyone with an interest in all things mobile tech :)

We’re kicking things off with our press conference on Sunday 26th. And you can actually accompany us, as the press conference will be streamed live through our official Facebook page and here, on the product blog – so don’t forget to check us back before 19:00 CET to catch the show!

Then, from February 27 to March 1,  we will be on site, on our booth in the event, where exhibition-goers will have the chance to create, listen, watch and play with our Xperia Smartphones!

But those of you who can’t make it this year (including me!) need not fear – we have our Xperia bloggers: Anthony, Clare and Will, on the ground during the week to bring all the experiences directly  to you.

They’ll be sharing their MWC diaries with demo videos, live Q&A’s, interviews and anything funky or cool that might pop up along the way!

Here’s a little bit more about them:

Anthony

A self-confessed “tech-head”, Anthony won’t be hard to spot amongst the MWC crowds – just look out for a messy haircut, and an equally questionable fashion sense ;)

Clare

Clare’s our renowned gaming nut, and she doesn’t let us forget it! Expect to catch her around the gaming booths, but wish us luck in trying to drag her away!

Will

Simply put, Will’s a gadget-junkie. It is said that he doesn’t commemorate Christmas – he waits a few months and celebrates MWC instead!

So, keep your eyes on the blog as we’ll be bringing you all the news and announcements live as it happens!

In past posts, we have talked about Xperia Studio, and the really cool things we are producing with a lot of creative people. From 360 degrees rides on a mountain bike, to showing the invisible universe through an app, Xperia Studio is always pushing the limits of technology and reality.

Now, Xperia Studio presents The Swarm, the first movie filmed exclusively with Xperia arc S smartphones, directed by Tom Harper, BAFTA nominated British director of movies as The Scouting Book for Boys, This is England ’86 and The Borrowers.

Have you ever wondered what does someone from our customer service team think of the Sony Ericsson phones?  Well, we interviewed one of our Customer service team, Markus Hermansson, about his experience with his Xperia smartphone and how he used it during their day. Check out what he told us.

1)     How do you use your phone to make the most of your day?

I use my Smartphone Xperia arc (or ray) to do a lot. It wakes me up in the mornings (well, it tries to) and provides me with the lovely snooze option.

I get out of bed (eventually), get dressed eat breakfast etc. and then I check my Twitter and Facebook. During the day when working I listen to music a lot. LiveSound phone headphones = quality sound! When at the gym I also listen to music but I use a Bluetooth headset since the wires tend to get in the way.

Today is Friday and it’s the last day of the 2012 International CES, and it has been an special show for us and I really enjoyed sharing the experience, the announcements and the excitement with you!

During CES, we asked on our Facebook page what would they like to know more about the Xperia S smartphone, so we could make a video about that feature, explaining a little more in depth about it.  People voted, and the feature that our Facebook fans wanted to know more about was the Dual Processor.

So, with a little help of the Developer World guys, Stephen Sneeden, our Product Expert, gave us an overview of the  1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 MSM8260 dual core processor and what it means for the phone and the users.

What feature would you have voted for?

Our colleagues from Sony also did a great crowdsourced video about the multimedia features on the Xperia S that is worth checking out!
