One of the main things about Sony Ericsson phones I have always loved, and I know a lot of you out there love too, is the design. So, when we receive a design award for one of our phones, it’s always very exciting for us and we can’t wait to tell you!

This time, we received four 2012 iF design awards in the telecommunications category, including the highest level of recognition, the gold award, that was given to the Xperia™ active smartphone.  On previous posts, we had talked a lot of how cool the Xperia active is, with it’s aluminum frame, great size, sports features, and water and dust resistance and we are really proud of this recognition for the design of this really functional smartphone.

The iF (international Forum) design awards is globally recognized among the most important awards for innovative product design, and the judging criteria to determine the winners for the awards includes quality of design and finish, choice of materials, environmental impact and functionality.

Also, the iF awards recognized the wider Xperia range and awarded Xperia ray, Mix Walkman and Xperia mini pro with product design awards. We are really proud that our commitment to create beautifully designed smartphones, without sacrificing functionality, is recognized though international design awards like this one!
