Last week we debuted the first episode in the Demand Great series – the three-part video series, which aims to show the full potential of the Xperia Z3 using its innovative technology to demonstrate how it can take all of your experiences from good to great. Today we’re excited to reveal the second episode, ‘Boardshare’.

Meet Justin Gratzfield, Canadian wakeboarding champion and hero of ‘BoardShare’. Justin’s whole life has revolved around wakeboarding; with a stunning lake on his doorstep he first started the sport at the tender age of three and has gone on to become the 2014 Amateur Wakeskate Champion. We meet Justin just after his best friend Mark has suffered a wakeboarding accident; confining him to a summer spent on the sofa.

Determined to make the most of a bad situation, Justin decided that if Mark couldn’t make it to the lake, then he would bring the lake to Mark – using his Xperia Z3.

With the smartphone’s IP65/68 waterproof capabilities* Justin was able to record and share their experiences, allowing Mark to watch all the stunts from the comfort of his sofa. Not only that, but with the ‘Live on YouTube – by Xperia’ camera app, Justin was able to stream all of the action from the lake in real time to his YouTube account so that Mark never missed a minute with his friends.

“Me and the gang have been missing Mark, and I can call him or text him – but it’s not the same as having him on the lake,” says Justin. “But when I got my new Xperia Z3 phone, it really took things to a whole new level.”

Justin’s support for Mark and his determination to ensure his friend wouldn’t miss out is another example of those that strive for greatness in everything, including their smartphone.
