This week we’ve been celebrating the new, the old and the upcoming additions to the Sony family.

Starting with the upcoming; after much speculation and countless rumours, the James Bond producers and Sony Pictures Entertainment have finally confirmed the title and release date of the latest and 24th instalment in the James Bond franchise, SPECTRE.

Press from all over the world gathered at Pinewood Studios, England as director Sam Mendes revealed the cast and crew of James Bond’s latest mission, due out in cinemas globally November 6th 2015.

From 24th instalments to 20th birthdays – Sony is celebrating this week as Wednesday, 3rd December marked 20 years since PlayStation revolutionised console gaming. The first console hit shelves back in 1994 and went on to become the most successful gaming system of all time. Want to reminisce over your most memorable gaming moments? Have a look back at the fun video released by our Japanese team that we posted a couple of weeks back. Alternatively, have a look at some of the best PlayStation ads over the years on the PlayStation blog.

PS4 GreyTo mark the occasion, Sony has released a limited edition version of the PlayStation 4 console – one that’s bound to offer a great sense of nostalgia to long-time PlayStation fans. A limited edition version of the latest console will be available in the same colours and style as the original PlayStation that graced living rooms all those years ago.

For those of you who already have a console, PlayStation are also releasing Commemorative PlayStation themes for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita that are free to download from the PlayStation Store.

The limited edition console is the perfect addition to any gaming lover’s Christmas list – but what about all the other tech fans you’ve got on your list? You may have already seen our very own Sony Mobile gift guide but for that extra shopping inspiration our Electronics team have teamed up with SGNL for Sony’s annual Christmas gift guide video. Check it out in the video gallery above.

That’s it from us this week – have a great weekend!
