Rewind back to the end of 2014 you may remember joining us as we celebrated the 20th birthday of our renowned PlayStation console – a lucky few of you may even have managed to get your hands on one of the limited retro edition original grey consoles that we released to mark the occasion.

Each of the special addition units were individually numbered and last weekend Sony held an open auction with bidders competing to get their hand on the No. 00001 console. It’s fair to say the bidding escalated, with the auction closing at £129,000 – an amount we’re pleased to announce will be donated to charity along with a matching Sony gift.

It’s not just the gaming sphere that has some exciting announcements this week; Sony Pictures also has a lot to shout about – or should we say scream? Or maybe laugh? Probably all three.

Either way, it’s good news for those who like ghosts, jokes and overalls this week as Sony Pictures announced the release date of the anticipated sequel to one of the most successful comedies of the 80s; Ghostbusters has been announced and you can expect it to hit your screens in 2016.

The excitement doesn’t end there as this modern remake is set to be directed by none other than Paul Feig and, much like the original, incorporates some of the funniest actors, or in this case actresses, in the business, with a female cast including Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon.

If you were with us last week you may remember Lucy Hedges racing across the Nevada Desert as she showcased just how much fun you can have pairing the smartband Talk and Sony’s Action Cam. This week she’s back capturing some magnificent shots of Las Vegas’s vibrant landscape with a new set of informative videos highlighting how you can make the most out of your Xperia smartphone camera.

Catch all the action below as Lucy shows just how easy it is to take the perfect time-lapse video and how to shoot the best low-light photographs using just your Xperia Z3.

Before we let you enjoy your weekend – we thought we’d leave you with a snippet of motivation as American athlete Dhani Jones shows us all just how the smartwatch 3 can help your fitness and make all those workouts (no matter how big or small) easier!

We’d love to hear how you’re getting on with your fitness aspirations so far this year so don’t forget to share your achievements with us via our #LittleWins scheme – you even have the chance to win a brand new Xperia Z3 or smartwatch 3.

That’s it from us, enjoy your weekend!
