The Internet is big, really big. So big, in fact, that the biggest challenge to those of us who enjoy expanding our horizons, can be knowing where to start. Luckily, there’s Learnist.

Learnist is both a website and the subject of our latest installment in the app of the month series, and it allows you to embark on a quest to discover a whole host of new and interesting tidbits of knowledge in just one simple download.

The app is made up of thousands of Learnboards, each one, a structured, step by step series of lessons, built using the experience of over 1 million experts and designed to help you learn new skills and acquire digital wisdom.  Want to learn about the art of filming Hollywood blockbusters with director Gus Van Sant? Or take some advice in publishing from novelist Brad Meltzer? Learnist has you covered.

Learnist screenshotThe UI is simple, well designed and easy to navigate, with images and bullet point copy providing all the details you need to pick up a new recipe, a new cocktail or a new life skill as easily as possible. Though it does require you to be connected to the internet in order to access the details, (a lot of the lessons contain external links that you need to visit in order to know what’s going on), we never found this to be a problem.

Try it out for yourselves and see if you really can learn something new everyday. It’s available for download on the Google Play Store now.
