Swedish mobile gamers were in for treat this week, as a collection of 12 lucky gaming fanatics received an exclusive home visit from Sony’s Game Truck, an initiative put together in collaboration with Swedish TV personality and film and gaming enthusiast Orvar Säfström.

The partnership saw the selected finalists experience PS4™ Remote Play first hand, as Sony’s Game Truck crew installed gaming booths directly into their living rooms. And if that wasn’t enough, a tasty Taco Truck was also in tow ready to fuel them for the night of gaming ahead. We’re not sure what’s better, the gaming or the free food.

Winners were selected based on their knowledge of obscure and vintage games – as entrants were put to the test with a series of video clips and screen grabs with gaming references from the 80s, 90s and 2000s, each more obscure than the last.

Talking of gaming, you may have already heard about the upcoming PS4 firmware update (codenamed Yukimura) from our friends over at PlayStation, but for Sony Mobile fans there’s more good news. The latest update is bringing new and improved performance upgrades for PS4™ Remote Play on Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 Series devices.

The PS4 system update will deliver a better gaming experience for those who like to take things mobile – you’ll now be able to enjoy your PS4 games running at 60fps when using PS4™ Remote Play. And, you can customise the frame rate depending on your connection speed to optimise your gaming experience.

Speaking of the PlayStation blog, Sid Shuman and Jason Massongill had the opportunity to have a hands-on, or should we say eyes-on (See what we did there?!) with PlayStation’s virtual reality prototype – Project Morpheus.

The gaming enthusiasts took the new and improved prototype for a test drive to see how its enhanced specs (including upgraded display to OLED, new 120hz refresh rate and reduced latency to 18 milliseconds – to name just a few) improved their overall gaming experiences.

Apparently, “words may not be able to do it justice” – but it’s definitely worth a read of their first hand experiences for yourself.

You may remember back in October when we introduced you to a white tailed eagle named Victor.

Back then Victor had just embarked on his inaugural flight to help build awareness for the Eagle-releasing charity FREEDOM – where he had soared across the Parisian sky and captured every second of his eagle eye view on a Sony Action Cam. Since then he’s taken to the heights of Mont-Blanc, London and the Arabian desert, and today he’s back this time reaching new heights as he flies high above the Emirate city of Dubai.

Check out the latest instalment of his epic worldwide trip below – and stay tuned as there’s a final record-breaking flight coming very soon!

Before we leave you to enjoy your weekend – don’t forget that you’ve only got until Tuesday 17th March to vote for your favourite images of the 20 shortlisted entrants within this year’s brand new mobile category at the Sony World Photography Awards.

It’s as simple as liking the images via Facebook – so get browsing and stay tuned as the winner of the mobile phone category will be announced on Tuesday, 31st March, with the overall SWPA winner crowned at a gala ceremony in London on Thursday 23rd April.

That’s it from us – enjoy your weekend!
