This week Sony kicked off the first instalment in its “Sony Multi-Room Sonic Wonderland” sound experiment series.
Together with Bompas & Parr, Sony sought to discover how the perception of sound could influence other senses – starting with our taste buds!
The experiment saw the creation of a ‘frequency flavour’ test, which discovered the changing perceived taste of an array of culinary treats (including lemon curd and goat’s cheesecake) switching from sweet to savoury, simply by changing the frequency of the music being played.
The series is set to explore how Sony Multi-Room audio devices can impact different scenarios and influence people’s senses – so be sure not to miss the next Sonic Wonderland instalment.
From extraordinary experiments to being an attractive employer! This week also saw Sony gain impressive results within this year’s Universum World’s Most Attractive Employers list, with us ranking 8th within the engineering sector & 16th within business.
The annual results relay Universum’s research into which global organisations hold a competitive edge in reputation based on the views of over 240,000 business and engineering students – so it’s certainly an achievement we’re proud of!
Now, you may remember two weeks ago, we introduced you to the 48 Hour Project – a global event spanning across 48 cities, which invited users to share their own personal experiences, stories and the extraordinary things that they encountered over the weekend of 13th/14th June.
With over 8,500 spectacular entries, the event captured an unbelievable snapshot of the world through the eyes of Xperia smartphones.
We’d like to thank everyone that took part, and take this opportunity to showcase some of the amazing photos that were shared from all corners of the globe.
This week also saw Action Cam release the latest artistic episode within its ‘Never Before Seen’ series – ‘Paint’.
The next adventurous video instalment created by renowned director Greg Hackett; let’s loose an unlikely paintbrush (a BMX bike with paint capsules connected to the wheels) onto a dark canvas, capturing the artistic results with Sony’s 4K Action Cam.

That’s it from us, enjoy your weekend.
