After testing taste buds against changing sound frequency last week, Sony’s latest sound experiment installation explores the sonic power behind its new MHC-V7D speakers in a stunning ‘Cymatic’ video.

Recreating Kiesza’s hit – Hideaway, the video showcases the incredible sound pressure and lighting capabilities of the new speakers by making water, earth and even paint dance along to the music – providing a visual representation of the power behind the sound.

This week we welcomed the beginning of July, which also marked the commencement of Sony Mobile’s sponsorship of the world’s most prestigious football tournament – the UEFA Champions League.

The three-year sponsorship will see the Xperia range of devices & smartwear products bringing new enriching mobile content experiences to fans in both the stadium and the digital arena – so watch this space!

July 1st also marked a special birthday within the Sony family… as 36 years ago, back in 1978 the original Sony Walkman was born.

The iconic device changed the way music was listened to on the go and was considered a phenomenon for consumers around the world. Today the original Walkman has evolved into the High Res Walkman Digital Music Players we know and love – swapping cassettes for MP3 & MP4.

MESH-Units-Square-d83da300ff26d9bc7f637c3639a9976aAnother notable milestone this week comes in the form of MESH (Make, Experience, SHare), which is available for purchase in the US through Amazon following its initial launch in Japan.

The smart DIY platform makes the creation of ‘smart inventions’ possible for everyone. This is achieved by using two key elements; “MESH Canvas” an intuitive app that enables you to easily define tasks without complex coding, and wireless “MESH Tags” which can be attached to pretty much anything to bring more creativity to the home and office.

The smart platform brings innovation to the masses by supplying some of the more creative and niche ideas within the Sony community to developers and consumers quickly and easily – and we can’t wait to see how it grows.
