Film lovers are in for a treat this week as Sony and Time Out London have partnered together with the rooftop film club for a cinema event like no other. Their plan is to see how long Time Out readers can stay awake, putting them to the test at a two-day movie party.

This is all part of the Sony #ICan campaign, with the movie marathon called #ICan stay awake for hours. As the Xperia Z3’s battery lasts for 48 hours, people are challenged to compare their own stamina.

The marathon will not take place on a rooftop, but in the underground venue of the edgy House of Vans in Waterloo with a selection of films ranging from documentaries to action flicks being shown.  movie mrathon
Those lucky enough to attend will also be able to check out the key features of the Xperia Z3 Series. The event is set to take place on August 21st. Think you could last as long as the Xperia Z3?

If you’re into fast paced movies, you’ll be pleased to know that Action Cam went on a speedy adventure this week with Geoff Sykes, the Global Rallycross driver, 2 time X Games athlete and 2013 US Touring Car GT champion. In the jaw dropping video, Sykes tests out the new Roll Bar Mount (VCT-RBM2) and board mounts (VCT-BDM2), proving that the action cam can stay in place in even the most extreme conditions.

It’s also been a busy week on the blog this week with the introduction of two new smartphones, the Xperia C5 Ultra and Xperia M5. They will offer advances not only in the camera, but in design, battery and performance.

Tony McNulty, Vice President, Value Category Business Management at Sony Mobile Communications, shared his excitement saying: We are pleased to present two new products that highlight Sony’s advances in camera technology.”

“We understand that camera capabilities are important to smartphone users, so we ensured that Sony’s existing camera brilliance was once again surpassed in the new Xperia C5 Ultra and Xperia M5 without compromising on other features across design and performance.”

We bet you can’t wait to get your hands on them.

And that’s not all. We also caught up with Anna Iramina, from the PlayMemories Online team.  She discussed the recent changes to PlayMemories online, the app that lets you build and share memories.  image_withoutimage
Although she couldn’t tell us much about the closely guarded updates in the pipeline, she did comment on the unlimited photo storage, how PlayMemories Online fits into the wider Sony ecosystem and the 5GB storage of full-sized images. You can find out more here.

That’s all from us. Have a good weekend!
