SmartEyeglass was introduced back in January. But this week, Opus Lirica, the Opera Company of San Sebastian announced it’s first in line to use SmartEyeglass technology with Opera Touch SL. The idea is to make opera a more immersive experience for its audiences. Somewhere between the seats and the stage a brand new cultural space will come to life. Subtitles, information about the artist, current action and even live scores will all be within the users’ line of sight.

And if you’re a gaming fan, then you can also experience a virtual treat this week, with Sony’s latest announcement. The PlayStation VR, a virtual reality headset (perhaps better known as ‘Project Morpheus’) is making its way to you and will be out to purchase as early as 2016.

Virtual reality has for a long time existed only in the sphere of sci-fi fantasy, but the latest developments confirmed at the Tokyo Game Show are a huge step in making VR technology accessible for anyone. The PlayStation VR was developed two years ago as ‘Project Morpheus’ – but in order to make the device less cyber sounding and a little more approachable, a brand new name was created.

But what exactly can we expect from the device? Working in tandem with PlayStation 4 to display and control games, the headset is equipped with accelerometers and lights for head-tracking, a 1080p screen and an impressive field of view. A new 90Hz display mode will also be made available, in addition to the 120Hz mode that had previously been revealed.

It’s safe to say Sony has a big year ahead!

Elsewhere, Action Cam took a bumpy ride as it adventured a whopping 1,500 miles to Sturgis, South Dakota. In this short video, you can see Motocross team Ricky Carmichael take to the road, action cam firm in place, as they head towards the 75th anniversary of the Sturgis Motorcycle rally – an event attended by an extraordinary one million bikers. The event that started out in 1938 has evolved into a meeting for motorcycle enthusiasts from around the world.
