Are you a big sports fan? Well hold on to your seats as we take a look at what has kicked off this week in the world of Sony.
Many of you out there will have seen the England game last Friday, some of you may even have been lucky enough to get tickets for Twickenham – but did you catch a glimpse of the Hawk-Eye’s SMART Replay technology in action? After being used in sports such as baseball, athletics, horse racing and tennis, our clever technology also made its way into Rugby, with an appearance at the World Cup – and what a game!
Whilst it was a solid victory for England, it wasn’t clear whether they would finish with a bonus point. But the neat Hawk-Eye’s replay showed a clear try, making it an incredible triumph for Sony too! As the rugby continues, make sure you keep an eye out!
Elsewhere, did you know you can now play UEFA Champions League Fantasy Football exclusively on PS4? Sony’s partnership with UEFA Champions League has been running for years, but now there’s a brand new app for the PS4 – PlayStation F.C! Not only you can play Fantasy Football against all your friends, PlayStation Plus subscribers can relive classic matches from the tournament, completely free!
You can even be entered into a series of prize draws just by showing off your footy knowledge in the app’s various mini games. Sounds great, huh?
Following tradition, the Q awards will take place next month and we can’t wait as this year we’re announcing the much coveted ‘Innovation in Sound’ award. Things got even more exciting as the shortlists for all awards were released on Wednesday. Artists including Foals, Florence & The Machine, Ed Sheeran and Noel Gallagher could all take trophies home!
It’s up to you who will win, so make sure you have your say. It’s easy to vote, just head over to Qthemusic.
In case you missed it, this week we discovered a great new app – that made it as our App of the Month. A hybrid between a Tamagotchi and a fitness tracker, the app gets you to fall in love with a small giraffe, who can only be looked after with the coins you earn through getting fit. After a run, cycle or walk, you’re rewarded for your progress and you can spend your well earned coins on food, drinks and accessories.
It’s the perfect motivator to get you up and going after a day watching rugby on the sofa and playing football on your PlayStation!
That’s all we have for you this week. You can keep up to date with our latest news by following us on Twitter.
See you next week.
