It was big news for Android this week, as YouTube pressed play on Virtual Reality.

With the increasing popularity of VR platforms and content, the video streaming platform announced that VR support would be added to its Android App. The latest features will enable users to see and be seen in a whole new way thanks to its 360-degree viewing experience, which will immerse viewers in a wide range of content. With existing content and brand new VR videos available just a click away, it looks like we could be in for something really special!

That wasn’t all in the world of virtual reality this week, as PlayStation® released an exciting new video, inviting us to discover the future of VR on PlayStation® 4.

Seen below, it documents all the cool features of the headset including a 5.7”OLED display, approximately 100 degree field of view and 3D Audio with a Stereo Mini Jack and MIC input. Unfortunately it’s not something we can add to our Christmas list just yet, as PlayStation® VR launches first half of 2016. So for now we’ll just have to wait patiently…

Moving away from all things virtual, this week we were lucky enough to see some extremely impressive photography.

With the closing date of 2016’s Sony World Photography Awards around the corner, truly stunning entries have been flooding in, from erupting volcanoes to cute critters. We loved them all!

You can check out the gallery of photographs here. Be sure to let us know your favourite.

The competition welcomes photographers of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels. The judges are looking to award the best single shots across 10 diverse categories, including Travel, Nature and Wildlife. If you’re a photography lover, and want to be acknowledged worldwide then enter here.

8Speaking of fantastic photography, this week we caught up with award winning photographer Chaitanya Deshpande after he tried out Xperia Z5.  Trekking into the depths of Richmond Park at dawn, phone in hand, he captured a whole range of nature and wildlife shots. In his photos of flapping swans and cobwebs decorated in dewdrops, Chaitanya was able to test all the great Xperia Z5 features out including its low light and fast auto focus capabilities.

To see more of his beautiful work and to find out his exact thoughts on the device, head over here.

Oh, and a quick heads up… There’s some pretty exciting news coming your way next week so keep your eyes peeled. You could be in for a bumpy ride.

That’s a wrap from us! We hope you have an awesome weekend.
