Still looking for Christmas gifts? There are plenty of Sony treats we’re sure your loved ones will enjoy – we’ve even condensed them into a handy infographic to make your life even easier!

Staying in the Christmas spirit, a new festive competition kicked off this week for you all to enjoy. For ‘Poetry in Moments’, we teamed up with poets to bring all your festive moments to life. Luckily, there’s still time for you to get involved. All you have to do is capture and send us your photos of what preparing for Christmas means to you, then if your shot is selected, our poets will find the perfect words to preserve your perfect moment in time.

This week, we brought our photographer fanatics a brand new camera app – SKY HDR, a real treat if you love snapping landscapes. A new expansion of the PlayMemories Camera app, users can capture landscapes with a stunning wide dynamic range. They can also independently control the exposure of land and sky and adjust different brightness levels in one picture.

To get going, simply download the app onto a compatible device, select an image and a theme and then choose a composure setting. Have fun and be sure to send us your snaps!

Finally, this week we again went behind the acronym with one of the world’s leading camera engineers, Kensuke Mashita. We wanted you to know why we make such a big noise about the sensors in Xperia cameras. From a basic overview of what an image sensor does, to the challenges when designing a sensor for a smartphone, you can find out everything you need to know and more.

That’s all from us. Be sure to check us out on Twitter.
