If you’ve been keeping track of the Sony World Photography Awards then you’ll enjoy this exciting piece of news. This week, it was announced that RongRong & inri, a husband and wife team, will receive the Outstanding Contribution to Photography prize at the 2016 Sony World Photography Awards, after making a significant impact on Asian photography.

RongRong & inri’s work aims to reflect the intimate world they have created together, pushing the boundaries of traditional black and white darkroom techniques. Together, they not only founded the Three Shadows Photography Art Centre but also the 2015 Jimei x Arles Photo festival  and the 2015 Jimei x Arles Photo Festival in partnership with Les Recontres d’Arles. The couple will receive their award in London on 21st April at the 2016 Sony World Photography Awards ceremony. Congratulations!

If you missed out on entering the 2016 Sony World Photography Awards, then you may be interested in this little piece of news. Sony has a monthly competition and you don’t need to be an expert to enter. Sony welcome all photographers, whether it’s the first photo you’ve ever taken or you’re already a master. This month the theme is ‘Still Life’, a competition that challenges you to make pictures rather than simply take them. Lucky winners can walk away with a Cyber-shot RX100 IV, an Action Cam AS200 or a Hi Res Walkman® NW-A20. Entry is simple, just visit the website.

Not stopping the excitement there, PlayStation also announced that a few lucky fans could sign up for closed beta testing for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, as it was offering a chance to step into the shoes of Faith before the game’s final May release.
