It’s finally Friday and we’ve all been looking forward to a well-deserved weekend! But before you head out of the door, why not take a look at this week’s round-up of what’s been going on in the world of Sony and Android.

First off, we are pleased to see YouTube has gone social! Arguably YouTube has long been one of the strongest social media channels, but always lacked the ability to quickly post updates or communicate with followers. The integration into Google+ was clunky at best, so the only real interaction was though videos and comments. Well not any more – YouTube has now introduced its “Community” tab. Available across both the web version and app, this gives channel owners the opportunity to post quick comments similar to Facebook or Twitter. Perhaps an attempt at keeping users on YouTube rather than straying to an alternative social network, it has been met with a lot of enthusiasm.

With the recent announcement of Xperia XZ and X Compact, we’ve seen great photos coming in as part of our #WowOfNow campaign. Xperia users are encouraged to take spontaneous snapshots – full of colour and action, we want them to highlight the real #WowOfNow, showing the beauty in every day photos, a mix of perfect clarity and brilliance.

Finally, Xperia C4 and C4 Dual users will be pleased to hear that we are starting to roll out Android 6.0, Marshmallow for these devices. A notification on your phone will prompt you to download the update, unlocking a range of exciting new features and UI changes.

That’s all we have time for this week, but we will be back soon – in the meantime you can head over to our YouTube channel to catch up on the latest news.
