It’s been another photography-focused week here at Sony Mobile. Following on from the Sony World Photography Awards (SWPA) at the beginning of the month, we caught up with photographer Andrew Whyte to get his initial impressions of working with his Xperia Z3. Andrew’s experiences with mobile photography really demonstrate the flexibility of the medium, something we discussed at some length with SWPA Judge Anthony Lepinay in the video below.

If you were one of the thousands of people who downloaded the Sony World Photography Awards theme we published a couple of weeks ago, we’ve some more news for you – meet Xperia Theme Creator.

The new version of theme creator makes it really easy for people who want to build their own themes – if that’s you, give your creative muscles a flex and head on over to the developer world site to check it out.

We’re pretty much used to seeing PlayStation games getting re-makes to make them playable on smartphones, so it’s great to see a game making the jump in the other direction. Badland is a beautiful, (so much so that we sometimes use it to demo the beautiful screens on our devices) physics based platform / puzzler and not only do we suggest you check it out if you haven’t already played it but also encourage you to read this interview with Teemu from the developers, Frogmind on the PlayStation Europe blog. Badland will be available for PS3, PS4 and PSVita on the 27th May.

And whilst your there, you might as well check out some of the biggest gaming news of the last few weeks in the form of the brand new Assasin’s Creed Syndicate trailer. Once you’ve done that, you can clock off for the week, tell the boss we said so.
